Vivienne Westwood – The ace designer from Britian who has twice won the Designer of the Year award, is known for her punk designs. Punk designs are usually offbeat designs with an unconventional expression in clothing, hairstyles, cosmetics, jewellery and body modifications that come as strong and impactful to the audience. Started in the 1970s by the trendsetting Vivienne Westwood, the fashion trend gained roots real fast in Britain. Started with just four stores in London, her brand spread from London to the whole of Britain and then to the whole world.

Interestingly, Vivienne Westwood is also an activist and a humanitarian at heart and her designs portray her sensitive and social-issue angle. She is especially vocal for civil rights, environment etc. and also, she calls herself a crusader for vegetarianism by supporting PETA.

Vivienne Westwood married twice while lived with a partner for some time. She has two sons with different partners.

She says that to protect environment, one should know their enemy as in what’s the harming the environment, next is to turn the economy green, starting with the energy source, redistribution of wealth, celebration of culture and community and lastly, the most important part is to question who’s in power and let them shape things in such a way that the environment remains protected. And that’s how she wants to rescue the world through her meaningful designs and her playing the role of an activist. The designed were used by the popular TV show ‘Sex & the City’ and the designs were hugely appreciated.

The pro-designer created a niche for herself by her achievements, off-beat designs, and her mission to rescue to world through charity, activism and humanity!
