Gaia & Dubos is a sustainable luxury womenswear brand in Quebec, Canada. It got its name after Goddess Gaia and René Dubos. In Greek mythology, Gaia is the goddess of the Earth. At Gaia & Dubos, she symbolizes respect and equity towards environment and humanity, the core values of the brand. René Dubos was a 20th-century French environmentalist. He considered humans as stewards of the environment, and he created the famous slogan “Think global, act local”, which perfectly characterizes the philosophy of Gaia & Dubos.

The designer behind the brand
Leonie Daignault-Leclerc, the designer and founder of Gaia & Dubos, is behind the creation of the brand and each of their products! Her fashion designer career began at the age of 12, when she created made-to-measure garments for herself and her customers. Today, she has a college diploma in Fashion Design, a bachelor in Fashion Merchandising and a Master of Arts in Fashion, where she specialized in sustainable fashion. Her values, passion, and creativity are behind each product.

All of their products are from eco-friendly materials and crafted under ethical working conditions in Canada. Their cotton is Certified Organic (GOTS), and so is the silk they use. In addition, the silk is also Fair Trade certified. They use Premium Belgium Linens for maximal durability and minimal environmental impact. The linings are Global Recycled Standards (GRS) certified recycled plastic bottle fabrics. They dye the materials with non-toxic dyes. For buttons they use recycled glass buttons, made in Ghana. And above all, they ship in eco-friendly packaging.
