Amour Vert – Green Love

Founded in 2010, Amour Vert is a fast-growing eco-friendly apparel brand. Above all, Amour Vert means ‘Green Love’ in French, and they work every day to create a healthier planet for future generations. Their brand focuses on sustainable fashion for women and produces clothing locally, in small batches, using organic and sustainable materials. The San Francisco based company has 10 retail locations. With every purchase of an Amour Vert tee, they plant a tree in North America with a trusted partner American Forest®. To date, they’ve planted over 220,000 trees. They make the pieces in limited quantities to ensure the highest production standard and eliminate excess waste. 97% of the products are made in California. Most within a few miles of their San Francisco offices.

Signature Fabrics

The brand works directly with mills to develop signature fabrics, that are soft, beautiful, durable, and of course, sustainable.

Beechwood Blend

They make the signature modal fabric from sustainably harvested beechwood fibers – free of pesticides and biodegradable. Their exclusive blends are cool to the touch, breathable and luxuriously soft.

While the finished fabric feels incredible, the magic is in the Modal fibers. Made in a closed-loop process, the fibers are twice as soft as cotton, hold vibrant colors, and maintain their exquisite hand even after repeated washing.

Silky smooth and so indulgently soft, the beechwood fabric is the absolute highest-quality blend of Modal and spandex that makes for tops, tees, and dresses you’ll never want to take off.

Organic Cotton

Amour Vert’s organic cotton is free of pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and genetically changed organisms. The toxins used in growing non-organic cotton are harmful to farmers, workers, us as consumers, and the entire ecosystem. As a result, we feel the effects of these toxins in our daily lives in the way of irritated skin, rashes and even headaches. The chemical residue which are trapped in the fibers can cause these type of health issues. Meanwhile, despite these risks, less than 1% of all cotton is grown organically. Their cotton and cotton blends are durable, smooth and have a soft finish. Read more about the crucial importance of organic cotton here.
